I remember that… It suddenly feel’s so far away…

Ok so here is the story on the latest publishing update in lieu of a chapter teaser. Don’t worry, I’ll post that tomorrow. Anyways, back to the “story of my life”… the acoustic version.

Don’t pretend like your not singing that one direction song in your head right now…

So the guy said, “we’ll get the gallery back to you in a couple weeks.” The guy in question was my publishing coordinator and I just got off the phone with him. The reason anything was getting back to me can be found here. If you don’t feel like clicking that past post I will give you the readers digest version. I had to edit my own manuscript then resubmit it. Well, I didn’t edit it, because let’s be honest, I am a professional at typos. I had it edited by a friend named Nicole who was “voluntold” to do the job by another Nicole. Basically, I saw a couple typos when I was given this gallery the first time around. A gallery I have learned consists of all the digital proofs of my future book. The cover and everything inside is provided in this gallery for my final approval.

Needless to say, I didn’t approve especially since I was lead to believe editing was something my publisher would provide. Well, they didn’t. So I resubmitted after the Nicole’s did what Nicole’s do, which apparently is the facilitation of the editing of books. I resubmitted not only an edited manuscript but also a retouched front and back cover. My publisher’s in-house artists took what my friend Kassidy gave them and tweaked it. Kass and I weren’t super stoked about what they had done. So Kassidy worked magic again and now I can say I am proud of not only the front cover but all the back and the interior flaps that are part of the dust-cover.

Back to the guy who said it’ll be a couple of weeks. Since I am new to this whole process and I’m fairly sure I won’t so assisted-self publishing again, I was slightly taken aback. Why would it take weeks? Everything was already looked over once and all that is needed now is a quick once over and then on to print right? This gallery is the final step in this entire process. Along with being given the gallery for my final approval, I am also supposed to decide on the final costs of the book. Seeing how I already did this once, and all that I wanted to do was a few changed here and there I kind of assumed everything would be done by the end of the week…

I guess not…

I had hoped this would be done last month. My new hope was to have it done before Christmas since people seem to like to buy stuff this time of year. This new goal is in jeopardy and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.

What a bummer…

In the meantime… I will keep sharing my book and story on the blog and I hope you enjoy reading what is posted here. We will also see if something small miracles happen and this process is expedited somehow. This last bit of hope I will cling to. We will see.

This week we will hear from a Pastor who is too old to be a millennial but has hired and worked alongside them. That should happen Friday, and tomorrow will be the last teaser form the book.

Stay tuned.

Until next time…
