Dave is a swell guy… I first met him as a freshman at Point Loma Nazarene University with my roommate Byron. Dave was our RA, the guy tasked with being our surrogate mother when we got homesick. There may have been a time before this that we had all met, but I don’t remember it. We all grew up in AZ, we were all going to the same denominational churches across the state which meant we more than likely saw each other at summer camps every year. Still, I have a terrible memory so I just say I met him in college.

Dave was a good RA, he wiped the tears from my eyes when I got homesick. He made sure I got chicken noodle soup when I got actual sick, and he made sure I made good life decisions in general. He was a great surrogate mom. Ok, almost all of that is a lie, except that last part. He did give me good advice about college girls which led me to make decisions about personal grooming. I went from looking like a backwoods hippie to looking like a cleanly shaven hippie. It worked too, but that first college girlfriend certainly didn’t…

Anyways…

Dave went on to seminary after going to school with me and Byron. Currently, I keep in contact with Dave almost exclusively through our Fantasy Football league. He annoyingly wins most years, so even though I do actually like Dave, I say not-so-nice things about him in the league.

He just shouldn’t win that much…

He’s on the blog. Check it out here!
